HSINCHU, Taiwan and MILPITAS, Calif. - June 17, 2014 - At next week's 2014 Creative Storage Conference (CS 2014), Elaine Kwok, product marketing manager for PROMISE Technology, is a featured speaker and will discuss the impact of cloud-based workflows for creative professionals in the media and entertainment industry. Held during Session B at 10 a.m. on June 24,2014, at the DoubleTree Los Angeles Westside Hotel in Culver City, Calif., PROMISE’s presentation is part of a special session titled ‘Making the Cut: Storage Challenges and Opportunities in Post Production,’ moderated by Philip Hodgetts.

PROMISE is partnering with leading automation and asset management software provider Primestream at exhibit space 13, to showcase how the companies’ solutions work together to help the world’s leading video production companies and media organizations create, manage and distribute content.

"This new partnership with PROMISE leverages their innovative storage solutions and our proven automation and MAM products," said Robert Lisman, director of marketing at Primestream. "These solutions make MAM easier by simplifying how storage devices work together while leveraging new, affordable technologies like Thunderbolt™.”

PROMISE Technology is a leading developer of storage solutions optimized for the video bandwidth requirements of the media and entertainment market. Noted for its versatile line of storage solutions for content creators, PROMISE offerings include the Pegasus2 series, which offers portability enabling the mobility of creative professionals, SANLink2, which creates a simple link for collaboration by connecting Thunderbolt enabled devices to shared storage, and the VTrak A3800 storage appliance, which is key for multi-user collaboration for all things related to video creation.

“Video has taken on an increasingly important role for a wide range of businesses, beyond those in the media and entertainment field. For instance, we are seeing marketing and training departments taking a leading role in creating video, not just viewing it,” said Kwok. “CS 2014 presents an excellent forum for PROMISE to demonstrate how we are helping the growing number of content creators, including the large number adopting 4K technologies, by developing solutions that offer the functionality and performance that improve their workflows.”

PROMISE’s presentation at CS 2014 will examine how multi-user collaboration and the rise in popularity of 4K content are leading to performance bottlenecks and exponential growth in storage capacity needs. Users need a way to also be mobile, yet not suffer latency issues for efficient workflow time. Attendees will learn how solutions with on premise and remote storage capabilities can scale to multiusers storage infrastructures with cloud solutions for higher and higher video resolution editing and collaboration.
