VTrak A-Class Replaces SAN to Deliver Increased Capacity, Resiliency, Bandwidth and Concurrency while Decreasing Overhead

HSINCHU, Taiwan and MILPITAS, Calif., April 8, 2015 - PROMISE Technology Inc., a recognized global leader in the storage industry, announced that Crawford Media Services has chosen the PROMISE VTrak A-Class shared SAN appliance with NAS Gateway to replace its incumbent SAN. The VTrak A-Class SAN helps Crawford consolidate all of the company's film scanning and DPX workflows which service the media and entertainment industry as well as the preservation industry and include The Walking Dead and The Vampire Diaries.

Atlanta-based Crawford Media Services is a proven leader in the electronic media services industry whose mission is to provide creative, turn-key electronic media solutions for television, film and archival clients. Crawford's Director of Engineering, Whitney Marrow, has worked with VTrak RAID systems for years and when a use case arose he contacted PROMISE's reseller partner, Edge Solutions Media Technologies of Alpharetta, GA, to learn more about how the VTrak A-Class could address their needs.

Crawford scans film directly to the company's 288TB VTrak A-Class SAN and the company's post-processing, color and transcode workstations work with the media directly on the storage until it is ready to be delivered to the client. VTrak A-Class enables Crawford to run multiple 2K and 4K workflows concurrently and offers four times the aggregate bandwidth of their previous SAN.
