Home Digital Media Center

• DLNA Certified Media Streaming Server: The SmartStor NS4600 is a DLNA Certified Digital Media Server (DMS). Digital Media Players (DMP) can automatically discover DLNA Digital Media Servers.
• Remote Access Media Center: Enjoy and share your music, videos, and photos with your family and friends using Wi-Fi enabled portable device.
• Media player: Media Center enables users to manage and play their music and video files stored on the SmartStor NS4600. Simply select the file you wish to play and "enjoy".
• Photo Album: Do you have tens of thousands of images and wonder about how to organize them? Using Photo Album, you can create flash based photo albums and then share them with family and friends.

Data Center for File Sharing over the Internet
SmartStor NS4600 supports remote backup function over the Internet. No matter where you are in the world, you can backup your data and photos to the SmartStor NS4600, and share the data and photos with your colleagues or family immediately. SmartStor NS4600 supports File server, FTP, web server and Plug-in to expand functions.

An Ultra Quiet and Green Box
SmartStor NS4600 conforms to the RoHS environmental standard demonstrating PROMISE's continued commitment to the environment. The Standby feature of the SmartStor NS4600 allows hard drives to spin-down reducing power consumption during periods of inactivity. The Wake-on-LAN feature immediately returns the SmartStor NS4600 to active mode upon access your data. Thanks to the new enclosure design, system noise generated by the fan is no longer a concern.

SmartNAVI, The advanced client utility for Windows and MacOS, allows you to manage the SmartStor through your network or over the Internet.

Digital Media Server

The SmartStor NS4600 is the perfect DLNA compatible Digital Media Server (DMS) for the Digital Home, allowing Digital Media Players to automatically discover and playback music, pictures and video. Simply copy your digital content to the appropriate folders on the SmartStor NS4600 and the rest is truly automatic. Your music, pictures or video will be automatically sorted based on ID3 Tag, Year & Date and Format & Resolution.

Supporting Windows 7 Network Media Device

The SmartStor NS4600 has achieved Windows 7 Logo Network Media Device Logo. This means the NS4600 has been rigorously tested under Windows 7 Media Player ensuring a rich user experience during enjoyment of your digital content such as showing the album art of your music or thumbnails for images and videos.

iTunes Digital Media Server

The SmartStor NS4600/NS2600 includes an iTunes Digital Media Server for playback of Music Files of MP3 and AAC audio files. The SmartStor NS4600/NS2600 iTunes Digital Media Server can also playback H.264, MOV, MP4 and M4V Video Files*. Video playback even includes protected content such as Movies, Music and Videos purchased from iTunes Store. In addition to music and video playback, the SmartStor NS4600/NS2600 allows for creation of custom playlists using the new iTunes playlist generator making the SmartStor NS4600/NS2600 one of the most advanced iTunes Digital Media Servers available today.

SmartStor Media Center

The web-based SmartStor Media Center utilizes the Digital Media Server to allow access and playback of digital content stored on the SmartStor NS4600/NS2600 from any computer (Windows, Mac, Linux) in the home using web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari. You can also use your mobile device to access digital content in the home or on the go (remote requires DDNS setup).

Logitech Squeezecenter

Using a Squeezebox device? You no longer need to use your PC as your Squeezecenter server. You can download and install the Logitech Squeezecenter plugin for SmartStor NS4600. The Squeezecenter plugin for SmartStor NS4600 provides the exact same experience as the PC allowing you to select from multi Squeezebox players and adjust server settings. You can also log into your Squeezecenter account for access to Pandora, Last.FM and other Logitech provided services.

Facebook Uploader

Keeping pace with the social networking revolution the SmartStor NS4600/NS2600 supports uploading pictures directly to your Facebook account and Facebook Wall. The Facebook Uploader has been integrated into the Web Based File Management Tool and also the SmartStor Media Center. Uploading your pictures to Facebook is as easy as one-two-three. During the upload process you can choose to upload pictures to an existing photo album or create a new photo album. The process is exceedingly simply requiring only a few clicks of the mouse.
